Depends on the type of game you want to make i guess..
I purchased the license for ImpactJS and have actually got quite far into a 2D sidescroller / run & jump type puzzle game.. It's a great engine and has a very helpful user community. Nice improvements to the engine even from when i bought the license over a years back, and I think they're in tight with the AppMobi guys.
The guy who put this all together there is "Dominic" and he is pretty good with answering any questions you have before you buy, but the forums themselves are loaded with info, so you may even be able to get your question answered with a search.
Or hit me up anytime:
Not a sales pitch, its a good engine! :)

Anyone using any out there? Any recommendations?
I found this list of a bunch of JS Game Engines. Though I am not sure which one to try out.
