Never used the app store before, never need to.
But thought I'd upgrade to OSX Lion via the App Store. So created a new Apple ID and then went to sign in, and nothing happens when I click in the quick links or sign in from Store menu at the top...?
Am I doing something wrong?

click the button with the price on it?

^ I can't sign in, so when I click on the price button, nothing happens because I'm not signed in.

ok, I logged off, clicked the price, the button turns green, then on a 2nd click I get a dialog to sign in.
maybe you need to validate your account or something

i had that same problem when i upgraded a few months ago. ended up having to email in to the customer support and they pushed the magic button.

Has anyone else been frustrated by the lazy design on the App Store? I was looking for some accounting software: it took hours to browse through the options, and I never did find anything that I was comfortable purchasing. The format works for iPhone/iPad apps where you're paying $1 - $10 for an app. I tend to try the first app that seems like it will work. It's a small risk. But when you get into apps that are hundreds of dollars, it becomes too difficult to come to a decision.
It also works if you already know which app you want to buy, but it sucks for finding things. Needs some major work.

^ best to do your searching on the regular web for expensive software, and THEN track it down on the App store.
