It's a new day, one last bump for good measure.

We just launched a simple political magazine a few weeks ago.
Initially we'd looked at using Wordpress templates or similar but ended up creating from scratch using our own CMS.
The reason being that using WP templates or other services usually ends up being more hassle than it's worth when it comes to the client coming back and asking - can I have this, can we change this, can this happen etc and it takes time to then work out how the template works and program in changes that would otherwise be simple.

There are some nice WP mag templates out there though

There are LOADS out there, just like these:

http://issuu.com/ ?
if you go for selfmade...think about possible future publication on tablets...proper xml structure, searchable, ...

Issuu looks handy, but I am needing more than a page flip type delivery. I am talking about something more like the large magazines do for their online component, where the issue is indexed and articles are actual page content.

Anyone used this for WP?

Using issuu for a newspaper site here.
Pros
Simple embeds
Mobile beta on now (yearly subscribers only)
Quick, clean
All documents searchable/indexedCons
Mobile beta is buggy (understandable)
Search MUST be done on their site/servershttp://www.thecreemoreecho.com/s… take a look at the implementations I've done as well as the "mobile" link near the bottom...
; )
I recommend it, but it is not perfect...
- Looks good, but still not quite what I am looking at.ETM

Decided no WP. Looks like it will Expression Engine. Anyone have anything they'd like to chime in on regarding EE in this use?
The EE decision was based on quality of support, nice templating engine and existing add-ons that cover predicted needs.

Anyone else?
