Is there a word or phrase that represents how certain dreams you might have can sometimes change your perception of reality, or even change who you are/how you act?

Maybe an example will help. Kind of lame one but all I can think up right now. Say you are in a relationship that isn't that great, so you have a dream about this person where things are much better, and when you wake up you might get the desire to just hug them, or become motivated to make it better.
I'm thinking there has to be a word or phrase about how dreams can change the way you see things.
By the way where is poppfodders? He's really good at this.

Are you talking about lucid dreaming?
- "lucid" is when your dreams appear real and you're able to interact consciously within your dreamssine

transformational dreams?
- CygnusZero40
Transformational dream sounds like what I'm talking about, a dream that can change your perception of reality, or help change you as a person, but wondering if maybe there is another word for it, something more interesting. Maybe I'm grasping at straws here for something that doesn't exist.

This sort of happened to me today actually. I dreamed I was yelled at and fired, so consequently I woke up and went into work early to make an impression.

^ Hehe. It's happened to me a few times where I had a dream and wanted to do something differently when I woke up. Been years though since the last, cant really remember the last one.
My sister mentioned that this happened to her over the weekend, I was trying to figure out of there's like an official term for this.

I sometimes dream of royally fucking up a music performance and all the trainwreck that accompanies it. I never practice longer/harder than i do after those dreams.

dream analysis is quite fascinating, though for the most part it's all about your own interpretation.
a few years back i had a recurring dream where my teeth fall out... i discover a loose tooth, start fidgeting with it and eventually all my teeth fall out in a bloody mess. apparently this means i have a fear of commitment...
i found this googling:
"Although a majority of our dreams may simply deal with our unresolved daily issues, we may experience many other types of dreams — problem-solving dreams, healing dreams, warning dreams, archetypal dreams, pre-cognitive dreams, turning-point dreams and so on."i don't know if there are more eloquent terms... my sister's a clinical psychologist and she's studied Jung... i'll ask her.
