Meeting vs Interview?

Is there any reason someone would say "meeting" instead of "interview" when talking to me about coming in to discuss a full time job?
Do you usually do portfolio reviews at a meeting?

meeting = they've seen your work online, are keen and want to meet you?
I ended up getting a job that way. Didn't bring work/folio to the 'meeting' though they did want to see my latest reel after the fact.

Any first 'meeting' is going to be an interview of sorts. You should at least be prepared to show work, or clarify it before turning up. I use 'meeting' or 'would be great to meet you' to make the applicant feel less pressure than 'please come in for an interview'.

I'll definitely bring my porfiolio. Thanks

"Meeting" ducks any implication that there's an available position for you on hand. Still, as explained above, bring your interviewing A-game.

Thanks all.

Fucking hell. Seriously.
"I'm real shit at life and I can't work out ANYTHING by myself at all. Even the difference between two words."
Already, I wouldn't hire you. No balls, indecisive and wants to do something everyone else does to conform in an already semi awkward situation.
Turn up and do/show something different.
