new haka is pretty awesome. The end motion isn't a throat slit. but means something like drawing the power from the lungs to the sky. If you believe that. Dont think anyone should get upset, as after this in the game, you get players trying to kill each other. So no harm done really. Go the ABS!!!

drawing power from the lungs...LOL! They should just be honest and say it's a throat slit...it's all just a bit of theater anyway and should be encouraged for ALL nations.
The Poms could have a tea party.

That's awesome. I bet it intimidates the opponent.

My Dad played for Leinster so I have been to plenty of rugby matches as a kid. I saw the Haka and I also saw Fiji do something similar while they were on tour years ago.

It looks pretty cool, and I think if every team had their own version it would be better received. Sports have always been drenched in masculine, tribal, war-like rituals. It's debatable whether or not the same practices should be used today as a spectacle. If it stays inside of that one environment, it would be more acceptable. But usually it seeps into the rest of society somehow.
- If every team had their own one? No thanks. It's not cheerleading, it's an ancient Maori ritual.Mulatu
- Nah, leave it to the All Blacks. Wouldn't work if every team had a pre-game ritualgoldieboy
- Then it does become weird, especially if it's only one race doing it. People are going to have valid points against it.Jaline

Munster beat the All Blacks 12-0 in 1978.
