itunes transfer issue

  I am hoping someone has had this issue before when setting up a new computer:

  Old MBP:
  itunes Library stored on external hard drive

  New MBP: migrated itunes, but physically transferred the external drive itunes library to a new external drive.

  Questions: How do I make sure that all of the files managing playlists remain intact? I am re-indexing my library now, but not sure how the playlists and other stuff get there because they're not in the new itunes.

  Any tricks to this?

  There's a file in users/library/itunes that stores all that stuff, forgot the name, I'm not on my mac.
