A few tv nerd friends say Panasonic is the best, with Samsung and Toshiba being great, cheaper alternatives.
I have a lame tv, but from what I've seen of Samsungs, they're bloody good. They also are pretty stylish if a bit plasticy.
- yeah ive been looking at samsungs in the past with a huge liking but not enough wongacruddlebub
- but now am buzzing for this to pop to me via lorry on sunday! ps3 will hit it hard!cruddlebub

Didn't think you could still buy plasma.

Just got 2 amazing old stock Sony professional displays for an installation from eBuyer, ridiculously bright .. put my 2 Bravia at home to shame. They also go on standby like a monitor when using VGA which is handy. worth a look.

Aren't Sony the top dog in mainstream tv's?
- cruddlebub0
i hear you sigg...
LED picture quality is something to behold, at 200hz too so no chopping as described...
i have been told panasonics are the shizzle for plasma
- is being the shizzle good or bad?dopepope
- and if bad, bad meaning bad, or bad meaning good?dopepope
- lol bad as in good but its still a plasma!cruddlebub

ok awesome cruddlebub.
i just bought a samsung 50" 720p plasma at bestbuy for $499 over the weekend. for gaming and a somewhat dimly lit room plasma is the way to go. mine was for a rather large basement so i could get away with only 720p. you'll probably want to hit up a 40" 1080p plasma.
you'll find that with an LED at only 120mhz you'll get this "choppy" action happening on slow pans or sporting events say where a batter is waving his baseball bat. the low refresh rate just isn't right.
that's just me though. people called me stupid for buying a plasma, until they see it in the basement. it's phenom.
we watch blu ray upstairs so that's where our 1080p tv is.
help?
- why on earth would you buy 720p !?monospaced
- ok, I get it... but stillmonospaced
