The only word of warning I'd have about using inkjets is that litho printers can find it hard to match the output in terms of saturation. This can lead to client disappointment with the finished job. We changed to a laser because we were always running into this problem.

^ it does print 13x19 boarder less. but eats a lot of ink. Great for printing colour photograph. Really nice colour. It even print on printable Disk. But if you are gonna do many revisions of mock ups, it might not be the best economic printer. 6 colour individual cartridges. each cost about $21 to $24 bucks.
- I've done packaging mock up with it. the colour is superb. if that's what you want.pango

Epson definitely is the most popular brand with design studios.
Your choice will likely be between the R2880 for $500
or the Pro 3880 for $1300.If you do mock-ups, then the larger 3880 is very nice.

i have an R2400, it's great
My old R1800 was often printing blanks, after a long delay....

If you have budget to lease a Canon Fiery that'd be the fastest way to print under hard deadlines. Just don't get into a hard 10 year lease like some dumb ass IT managers do. Go for the 3 year buy out option.
