Good evening cats,
I have a couple questions about CV's.
I want to send one along to a few illustration agencies with my port link.
Is there a different protocol for Illustration agency CVs vs Ad or Design agencies?
Should it just have a bio and clients, or just stick with a general overview?
Thanks for your time. Onto the gif thread : )

My advice would be to send something a bit more exciting than a standard CV. After all, you are a creative person.
If the purpose of what you are sending is to drive someone to your portfolio website, do something that's going to inspire them to do so or grab their curiosity to do so.
Come up with an idea as a 'campaign'. Do an illustration or concept specifically for the mailout. It could be as simple as a postcard with a QR code or something with as much effort as a comic?
If you do comic style illustrations, why not illustrate a story then leave out the ending but just have a QR code or url to prompt them to visit the site to find out the ending.
Just an idea.
As someone who gets lots of cv's sent via email and snail-mail I have to say that a lot of them just get glanced at because i'm too busy to look at them properly. It's only the ones who have done something interesting and different from the 'norm' that get a proper look.

Second 23kon's comment: make an effort to design your CV well. Think of it as an extension of your personal brand, and be creative with it, without making it difficult to sift through.
Try to keep it to a single page, well laid-out; _maximum_ two, if you really must.

Even something like "Free prints for the first 10 enquiries"
No designer or studio is going to say no to a nice free print for their wall just from a simple email or phone call.
- I read that as pints, which would work too...

A freebie poster or a nice postcard with your name/url on it is a good one actually as chances are it'll get hung or stuck-up if it's good.
I know that beside my desk i've got postcards and posters that i've been sent and they get looked at every other day if i'm sitting back and thinking.
It's a constant reminder to someone of your work.
