Tumblr like WP Themes?

Anyone know of any very simple Wordpress themes that function like Tumblr? I'm more familiar with WP and just want something that allows for photos to be posted from my Flickr account, simple as that. Very little nav, no archiving, no months, etc. Just some simple graphics, and individual photos from flickr.
Also - since Tumblr sort of caters to these types of photo-blogs, is there any distinct benefit from using Tumblr, say, in terms of things being searchable or promotable by the tumblr community?
Thanks for your feedback.

a re-syndication of your flickr images is all you want?

Registe - I expect that I could use a standard theme like I've use on my blog and just disable lots of things - no Nav bar, nothing in the sidebar except a short about section. I already bought that theme from graphpaperpress.com so it would be easy to strip it down.

mg33,
Let's get to brass tacks here. Do you plan on using the wordpress interface to post images at said blog? The way I'd do it is syndicate the rss feed from a set in your flickr specifically for this blog of yours. That way whenever you add a new image to the set the rss feed for it updates and inversely the blog. No need for the double posting, use of wordpress or even installation of the wordpress framework

I also know there are ways to populate a wordpress site with an rss feed. optimizing such would allow you to only admin your wordpress configuration once when initially syndicating the feed

mg33,
there is a way to syndicate certain photos. i already said it.
syndicate a set you create for this blog.

I think you're right registe. I've already done that before - not full syndication, but enabling a quick one button share from Flickr that appears on my blog as an individual post. That may be the way to go.

that isn't what i said.
- OK - will look into the syndication like you described then. :)mg33

the reason i would avoid wordpress is you are assembling multiple pages using the framework installation, causing excess server load on each visit for more or less something that is displaying as you say simply images. No need to let wordpress assemble itself out of numerous pieces so you can display a simple string. There are more efficient ways. Wordpress is not 'tussin for the internet

You could either destroy WP so it "looks" similar, or use just tumblr as is with no changes needed, the way it was meant for...

Howdy - so after deciding that I wanted to give Tumblr a try to learn something new, I set up http://www.standhereforever.com and got everything working as I wanted to. Still browsing themes and might make one for myself, but will essentially be using this tumblr to include both my own landscape photography and photos by Flickr contacts. Enjoy!
