Does anyone know how to set 5D MKII for auto shutter release every say 30 min or something like that?

i think you can do it with the Canon software, but it needs to be connected to a computer.

the canon software works well enough for window + go to sleep, but this here http://www.breezesys.com has more functions for configuring the auto-shooting

Surprised it doesn't have it built in. My antique Canon S40 point and shoot had that feature.
