Williamsberg would be a good idea. Close to L and hipsters.

Well, I've been to NY before and stayed in Manhattan wich was great, but we're on a tighter budget this time so we opted to book a loft in Williamsburg for a terrific price. We'll be a bit closer to midtown and lower east so that will be perfect for us.

i'm with jsk, but would say downtown. it's historic, will be empty during the hours ur there, and is close to all the subways.

Why not ask QBNers to stay with them?

Easy access to anywhere

Two nights? Sleep in central park....

If you stay in brooklyn, chances are you will take more cabs.
If you stay in manhattan close to major subway hub or close to it, you will spend less money on cabs.

it really depends on what you're here to do and see ... if you want to visit Manhattan and all that it offers, by all means, spring for Manhattan
- We'll spend 2 days exploring Manhattan (especially place we haven't been yet) and 1 day in Brooklyn.non

Airbnb sounds good, especially as you'll be able to burn the owners family photos and try on their clothes.

Looking at an appartement rental for 2 nights (sep3 & sep4). Found one interesting in Park Slope on Airbnb for really cheap. Should I be better off paying a premium and staying in Manhattan?
Any recommendations?
Thanks.
