design?
illustrator
corel
any software capable of a vector formatproduce working font software for others to type with?
http://www.fontlab.com/There are drawing tools inside FontLab, but I prefer to import or paste into Fontlab
- I've used corel before is much more intuitive for fonts in my opinion!hektor911
- (it even has an export to ttf option) but don't use it as a final solution. it will still need the metrics adjusted********

Fontographer for beginners (if it‘s still available)
- monospaced0
Activate the fonts (install) and get going.

You could just use Fontographer
Its made by the same people as fontlab, its like $300 cheaper and works just as well. (I believe Fontlab bought their competition, fontographer, at one point, but so many dudes like fontographer that the never got rid of it and actually updated it recently)
