This rings a bell.. isn't this some Chinese adolescents fantasy render? I'm sure I remember seeing this a while back.
Given they had to illicitly nab a demilitiarised one off the Russians and haveb't even finished upgrading that, this is entirerely fictional..

I think they bought a mothballed Soviet Union Aircraft Carrier and spend huge amounts of time and money rehabbing it....
Sometime in the future, they'll have an "Aircraft Carrier 2.0"
but in the age of precision guided Cruise Missiles, I have no idea why.....

“in the age of precision guided Cruise Missiles, I have no idea why..... ”It's only the oft-overexagerated Chinese ‘hypersonic’ missiles that are cause for alarm, but that's been much over-stated. As for ‘why’—how else do you have mobile force projection, consisting full-spectrum deployment, anywhere offshore?

all of the naval and air power the chinese have is terribly outdated. Instead of investing in air and sea power they are investing in missiles, lots of them.

Shame that in the year 2011 we humans still spend so much time, energy and effort building machines that can so easily kill other humans.
If the same amount of money and effort when into developing safe renewable energy sources, medicines and synthersizers - the world would be a much better place for it.

Just for comparisons sake - an RPG worth $10 on the black market took out a US helicopter and an elite team of 20 spec ops today in afghanistan. So about $19M for the copter, and say $1M in training and man hours for each Navy Seal...$10 took out $40M worth of US equipment today.
