Simple WP theme with just 1 page of news

I'm looking for a really simple WP theme with just 1 page of news items displaying within a div, that isn't the homepage... might build it myself but if there's an existing theme would simplify the job... Anyone know one? The integration part of building a wp site takes me ages, so if anyone knows one (haven't found anything similar) would be helpful... Thanks

haha... guess that's not very clear... just building a site with a static homepage, and a single page listing all the news items. Thought there might be something out there similar so I don't have to build the back-end, but I haven't found one so far.
Yeah wpshower are great, I'm doing another site based on one of their themes.

Not sure if this would help, but if you want a canned solution, perhaps you can use a tumblr. Most of the templates have simpler structures than WP.

you can do what you are asking for in wordpress settings...
set homepage to static page and news page to another page.
