So I hate pixelpost, well pretty much every single existing theme for it and I really don't have the time to put something together.
I like wordpress but most of the photo blogging themes expect you to have some in depth description for every image you post which I certainly don't.
I'd like it to be self hosted. Any suggestions?

I'd check out www.graphpaperpress.com if I were you. They have some nice themes - I actually got an account to buy two that I'm using now. For the new photo portfolio I'm setting up, it's a simple process of uploading images and they don't need descriptions at all. In fact you can turn off comments and really just focus on the images.
This is a work in progress, but check out www.mg33.net/michaelgallegly, which I'm setting up as a new photo portfolio site. That uses the Uno theme. Is this kind of what you're looking for?

I quite like the fullscreen theme. I think I'd either like something really minimal like:
http://suprmarket.net/gridalicio…But there's no way I'm paying £56 for a single wordpress theme.
I kinda like the "fullscreen" theme on Graph Paper Press. How does the subscription work? Could I just pay for a quarterly subscription and download all of the themes? Do I have to continue paying for a subscription to use the themes?
- Yeah, you could pay and grab all the themes I think.mg33

I thought the same thing about paying for themes, but it payed off on my main blog. They provide support, and there's a support forum where they respond very quickly, investigate code, etc. It's impressive. I used them plenty getting my new blog setup. I'm too busy to build stuff like this from scratch, and their base template allowed for exactly the kinds of updates I wanted to make.
