I've been getting some strange email from a yahoo account.
Is it possible to see their IP, maybe see what city they're in?

You won't be able to get their IP address if they sent it off the website. Most likely just traces back to yahoo's IP.

Does it only work if they use iMail or something? Not mail.yahoo.com?

^ Yeah you might be able to trace it back then...usually if someone is using webmail you have to be the law and subpoena Yahoo to get their nfoz.

You can check the email headers which will give you a reference off all the servers that has handled the mail right back to the sender.
however.
if the sender posted the mail from a dynamic IP address it might be futile to try this. That being said if you are being harassed I am pretty sure you can go through some legal proceedings to speak to yahoo, or the ISP who handles that address in order to get them to stop....

on gmail whenever it notices an ip that is different from where you normally login you get a warning message. does yahoo have something like this?
