Was having a discussion with a buddy recently. Who here still uses film for select projects?

Sorry, stills. Photos.

I would say digital for stills.
Clients wants to see it as it shoots and wants it retouched right away as soon as the shoot ends.

Again, unless you are going for that specific look with authenticity.
Regardless, what ever you are comfortable with.

Film is preferred over digital in Japan.

I prefer using film when time constraints or the context doesn't require digital means. Personally I like the tactile nature and the process of film.
But it's a completely subjective thing, and what jives with one person probably doesn't with another (thus half the arguments on Flickr).

uh huh..... here we go again.....
whatever you really love and can get away with.... with a particular client.... and of course, if you're too slow, they'll hire somebody else next time.... if you can keep the mystique of how amazing film is, that's great.... beware the lighting is different....
If film becomes uber-hip again, that would be good for me, as all those DSLR-Babies don't know how to work with color filters to "white balance" film.... it's a barrier to entry that may help raise rates!
