Other than iPhone, does anyone here own or have experience of a digital compact camera with GPS built in?

hello again atkinson :P
i cant really see why anyone would want GPS. I would like to think when i take photo i would know where it is.
on top of that there are very few pieces of desktop software that can read the gps information from a folder of images and display it on a world map.
And the GPS drains the battery faster, so be sure to get a camera where you can turn off the gps, like the samsung wb650 -
note the gps switch on topalso im not recommending that camera, its ok, but there are others that are better.

ha the encyclopedia Hombre_Lobo!
Cheers.
Well the reason is for a project based on a situationist / flaneuristic 'walk', to map as I go, and I won't really know where I am except for 'London' for example. However, I might stick with the iphone. I do think GPS tied to an image has some merit though so long as the location is within a few M.

I see the GPS doo-dad for those who are interested in noting/sharing where they were when that particular shot was taken. Until flickr and similar sites start reading the EXIF data directly, where I believe the GPS data will be stored, then I'm not all that interested.

I thought they did read it directly?
anyone used those eye-fi sd cards?- EXIF is read, but I still think you have key in the location manually or via their interactive map...adumbratesly

Ah I see. Maybe I should just log the GPS on my phone and take a pic with whatever I have
