We've just moved place, and I'm in the market for a new TV.
Anyone got any recommendations? We're looking for something around the £350 mark. Mainly used for football, PS3 and a few movies.
Hoping for something 40"+
Are 3D TV's worth getting yet?
Also, what's the difference between HD ready and full HD 1080p? Obviously the latter is better, but what are the implications of a "HD ready" tv?

after my 3 year old son managed to smash the screen of our tv with a bike pump we went and got a Sony Bravia like this one...

...perfect for playing on the PS3, good quality picture and the wi-fi internet connection is handy

how does the WiFi work Bluejam. It mentions skype, but what do you run the actual application through?
- Sony embeds the software, just like in their Blu-ray players. You just add the camera.monospaced

LGs seem very good for the price and have a decent UI which I think is pretty important.

LCD - great for gaming, sport titles and driving titles especially.
LED - great for movies, especially the qbn fav "crushed blacks".
Plasma - great for movies.. but has a limited lifespan..
3D - the next gen.. havent seen it yet in action.. but im already with it on the big screen..

the tv connects to directly to my router ( as easily as the PS3 does).
for using Skype you need to buy additional hardware which i haven't bothered with and as for connecting to the internet, it's all done via the tv menu system which includes dedicated channels for skype/twitter/facebook/youtube and a whole host of stuff.the youtube channel is proving very handy for watching cartoons with my sons.

No matter what, get a TV that displays native 1080 resolution. It's worth it for the future. And 3D is not, and will not, be worth it (in my opinion) ever.
- <right. forget about hdready (1280x720). go fullhd (1920x1080).uan

Samsung are fantastic and well-priced compared to Sony.
I've heard good things about some budget-brands as well, but can't remember the names and would hate to recommend something that turns out to be false.
