Going to be swinging through Miami near the end of July for some business stuff, think we're going to stay at the Standard — I know there's probably a few dozen threads about this, but I'm making a fresh one. Where should we eat / drink / sightsee?

We can get good steak in any city, I guess we'd like to get to some places that serve food we wouldn't be able to get anywhere else. Just stand out Miami places I guess.

Hit up Joe's Stone Crab (although stone crabs aren't technically in season, but I think they still serve them). If they don't, order some other seafood, the fried chicken and DEFINITELY the key lime pie. If the wait is unbearable, eat at Joe's Take Out next door. Hiro's Yakko-San is also a personal favorite for Japanese tapas (open really late too) but it's closer to North Miami.
You gotta get some Cuban food while you're down there. Most hole-in-the-wall Cuban spots will do, but if you have a car, drive over to Calle Ocho.
If you have a little cash to spend (or a corporate card), check out Michael's Genuine, Sra. Martinez, The River Oyster Bar or Michy's.
