btw: there was a moment of my life I was really poor and leaving in canada,
my budget was about 2 or 3 dollars a day (no joke) and still managed to eat normally,
ate lots of oatmeal, rice, tuna, pasta, creton (eheheh),
lost lots of weight too during that time, didn't gain any

Actually I think the numbers bear out Georges' contention here. The poor actually are fatter on average than the rich.

I think another big factor is the move away from physical activity at work. Hundreds of years ago the poor would be busting they ass slaving away on the farm or in factories, whereas now pretty much all jobs (in a first world country) are sitting behind a cash register or a computer screen.

As I mentioned above,
you can eat well for almost nothing,
it is just that you need to never eat out and cook most of your meals yourself,rich people can both afford good product but also a cook which is always a bonus

You can get fatty burgers for $1 at burgerking, and a meal at whole foods will run you $10-15

There's so many people on social security, I think the gov't wants it's citizens to die faster i'm guessing.
