Is the industry standard still 600 pixels wide, or has it gotten bigger? All my email newsletters are different - Is 700 too big?

I usually do 650 but sometimes I'll push it up to 700. Just cause i'm crazy like that.

I haven't read a single commercial email in 5 years.
- Sorry to be pointlessly unhelpful, I didn't think there was scope to make money in email anymore. I am glad to be proved wrong.mikotondria3

I stay low, usually around 480px to 495px about half site width
mikotondria3,
money maybe not, but keeping contact to update customers is important and appreciated, i receive several emails that are of interest to me for both my personal and professional life.
I've also designed a few for clients that have relevant data pulled from their cms, so it is actually a newsletter and not an ad
luckily some clients still care about a consistent appearance from print to web to mobile. It's a good communication tool that i feel is an e-experience that should be branded very similar to the website as it will interact most directly to that
