Illustrator - Fit Box to type?

In InDesign there's a way to shrink the textbox to fit the type.Is there a command to do this in Illustrator? I want the bottom of the box to be right at the baseline of the type. And don't want to manually adjust everytime I switch fonts.

Not that I know of, and I feel your pain. Set the type in InDesign.
