I just got a new iMac and am having some serious issues importing fonts onto the new machine.
I'm trying FontExplorer X Pro
When I try to import my previous machine's fonts, I get the error "Error renaming (path)"
and it won't import the fonts...
I've tried changing permissions, I've tried different paths.
I've tried FontBook and Suitcase they won't work either.
Suggestions?

start over slowly instead of dumping all 10,000 fonts at one time?

are they purchased fonts that aren't working?

Some are purchased, some are free downloads, some are from projects a long the way... only similarity is that they ALL aren't working

Try changing the Fontexplorer font folder from the default location (deep in a user folder) to somewhere else. You can do this in the Fontexplorer Preferences. I like to have mine in the hard drive root (same level as Applications, System Library, Users, etc. Also, you did copy the fonts over to your new hard drive already, yes? If you're trying to import them over a network from the other machine, there could be permission issues.
