If a client needs a few links added, some pdf's uploaded and other little edits to their website, how much do you bill them for all the small changes?
- maikel0
your rate times the amount of time it takes you...
: )
- correct, it's so obvious I am confused as to why people ask in the first placemonospaced
- actually, you may as well factor a minimum time unit... but what the heck...maikel
- not reallydoesnotexist
- double hourly rate for minor shit, as it disrupts your focus on real projects.vaxorcist

we've got a minimum of 1 hour to be billed on any job. usually helps the client gather a lot of little things that they'd like changed/added too.

Yea I just dont know what to charge for the hour, to do that :P

OK.
(here we go once more)- Where do you live (as in, what currency do you use)?
- How much time do you have in your hands?
- Can you sort out the problem?
- If you'd had to ask somebody to do the same how much would you be charged?
- Is it a client, a friend or your mom's boyfriend? It is not bloody rocket science.
Interns earn nothing and Seniors can ask for a handsome £50-100 +VAT the hour without even blinking (mind you that is what the bloke who fixed my boiler charged last time). The great mystery is that BOTH can solve some problems and actually a lot of interns will be more qualified to do what you described on top than seniors.
If you don't know, charge nothing and ask for a favour in return.
- both seniors and interns, I'm not talking about the boiler man...maikel

what's her budget? do you have production rates? design rates? minimums? what's the turn-around? just you involved?
- maikel0
Honestly mate, get a decent feel of what you need doing.
You MUST KNOW if you have access to source files, and in which conditions these are. Otherwise is just guessing. For a wild guess, do a Jimmy... 190K + some benefits.
- Personally I won't do a job I don't know how long / how much effort will take.maikel

think of the opportunity cost...
i.e. what could you have done with that time and focus.
1. thought about a great new Pitch for a new client for a $$$$$ project
2. Met a deadline for another, richer client more easily, rather than inturrupted your day to do this client's horseshit modification crap and lose focus on what really matters
Modification charges should be priced to discourage mindless modifications....
2 hour minimum, even if it takes 15 minutes.
