I have nothing better to do today so I'm gonna ask:
why is everyone get all worked up when someone posts something thats from their blog? Isn't it the same as someone posting a link to their own website? Isn't it a nice thing for them to do to help promote people's work?
I will now leave the room with the time bomb ticking.

it's called spam when you post a link to you blog for everything you post.

a link to the blog should be sufficient, but links to blog posts is obnoxious

u guys actually keep track of who posts what?
- usrper0
i guess if its really every single post the guy makes.
but I never bookmark any of those blog sites from these guys so they might as well do it.

As I understand it, it's less about people linking to something that's FROM their blog, more when they just recycle other people's work or linkage.
This is especially objectionable where the principle intent of the blog is to make money from pushing ads, etc.
- oh wait i might have missed ur pointusrper
- recycle other's work or linkage.. not sure what that meansusrper
- it means, if you are lets say the creator of something, and they link your work to their blog..epill
- it's your work, maybe its credited to you, maybe a link is shown, but not likely.. its spam.epill
- and the qbn spam police are all busting ass that perhaps one day they become pink guards..epill

but isn't that what the blog is for in the first place? isn't that what tumblr is all about and no one has objections?
They might make money from it, but thats what a magazine is for in the traditional sense. No one has objections to that.

i usually try to check them out - even when labeled as spam there's often some neat stuff shown... not so much the "eat for your diet" ones -

yea, sometimes theres some good stuff that they post. but then they're usually followed by comments like "a troll is born" or something hilarious like that.

I really don't like it when someone posts a stupid aggregator blog loaded with ads.
If someone posts a single link to one of them I think it's fine, but an awful lot of the time these people come along and post separate links to each blog post, and these posts often just link directly to someone else's work.
You'll see something in PC like 'Joe Bloggs new artwork', but the link posted will send the user to a blog that then links to that artist, rather than the artwork itself, just so they get the ad revenue and SEO boost to their blog.

i once posted a link to my own site, where i post a pic every morning from my daily sketchbook - nobody said anything via the pc, but i got some emails asking that i stop contributing to the spam... here's the same link i posted, spam? yes or no - http://www.benjadams.com/categor…
