type tool in ps

  I am always having issues with the type tool in photoshop cs5. It locks up my photoshop for about 2 mins or kills photoshop completely does anyone know a work around. I have cleaned system fonts, and rebuilt all my other assets.

  Nothing else cause the issue? Must be a font issue. Even your Ariel or anything could be corrupt. Are you using Font Book or something?
