My old man died 6 years ago, and we didn't really get on. I realise now that I should have made more effort with the relationship. I'm a father myself now, and boy that shit is tough some days...

I don't regret leaving my last job before starting on my own, but I do regret the circumstances under which it happened.
I regret not going to a real design school. More for the connections than for the training per se. I see all these kids graduating from Parsons, SVA, Art Center, etc. armed with connections to the brightest designers in our industry.

My mom use to call me all the time to chat and I was always too busy to talk. She died unexpectedly and I wish I had taken the time.
I regret becoming a designer. I was 18 when I made the decision and didn't research it much. My art school teacher told me I would be a good one. That's how much thought I put into it.
