I was not wowed by their most recent reel, kind of boring and predictable...
- Boz0
Yes.. as utopian says.. they've done a bunch of nicer stuff.. the reel is like yawn..
Compare it to Mill work:
not to mention Digital Domain stuff.. they are insane
- Different kettle of fish. A large portion of The Mill work is for external prod cos etc. Pure VFX, imaginary forces produce and concept a large majority or work as opposed to pure VFX specialistsbabaganush
- And concept all their work. As opposed to the Mill etc which may have whole r and d departments just for particle effects for feature special effectsbabaganush

^agreed.
the reel is 'ok', not great. But the work is fucking awesome. excellent stuff. wish i could do some of that.

jesus boz, the mill worked on so much awesome stuff.
Barclays roller coaster
Rooney's ad
Bt infinity (that ad is epic)
Addidas campaign.
Old spice
weetabix
lynx
Guiness
(and they're just the ones i recognised)I knew they were one of the best, but had no idea they had involvement in so many epic ads.

i think some motion studios treat reels as different things.
Some treat them as just a quick showcase of their work.
And some (like the mill) treat them as an entirely new piece, that should have its own type of narrative and pace etc.
