I got an email from DREAMHOST saying they were going to automatically renew my hosting for $120 for the next year. I'm surprised because I got a coupon code deal of $15 this year.
Should I switch hosts to try to find better deal?
Is this what you pay?

I have a .com email, which is powered by gmail. Would it mess up if I switch hosts?
My domain is through godaddy.
- yes sir.tredesigns
- It would mess it up?djhiro
- you will have to mess with the servers MX entries to point to the new hosting site.tanpopo
- Yes - just update your DNS zone info with your new host after you transfer domain
jayoh - the google hosted mail is offered to there partners free of charge. if your next host is a partner you should be able to redirect it.tredesigns

if you're not doing that much with your hosting, and you're not all that familiar with the set up..... if it ain't broke don't fix it.
If you're thinking of getting more into development or reselling, then it's more important. $120 isn't much.
- Not doing anything besides just hosting my portfolio.djhiro

- propagation worldwide takes up to 48 hours, though anyone that doesn't have dns cached should be pretty instant.BabySnakes

djhiro, real question is where is your NS record pointing? If it is parked at godaddy and just pointing mx records to gmail then you should be alright.

Prefer Dreamhost as well. Buy 2-3 years if possible (and if you trust them enough).
