Sounds dope, at least on my crappy computer speakers! I like the artists you are referencing as well.

Try posting them to a soundcloud group or your connects there for comments.
Skipped through a few. Not sure what you're going for. If they're meant to be strictly instrumental compositions you need some more interest and variety.
Mixing is a bit off on most and you should work on that. Elements are much louder than others (the horn on "easy now").
Sounds like you just started producing. Keep at it.

Also, please deviate from the flying lotus template you've started out on.
Seems like every new electronic artist I hear these days is really stuck to that sound. Loads of more possibilities out there.
- I don't see what's so bad about it. Especially as a way to learn.abettertomorrow
- I honestly didn't know about lotus until this year.. I made alot of beats before I even knew he was making that sound.

@abettertomorrow All of the "live beat" shows I've gone to in SF / SJ seems like there are 10 new producers trying to do that sound. It's played out now.

Glitchy hip hop beat stuff will always now get labelled as Flylo-ish. It used to get called AphexTwinny. Got to do something real original and different to not get labelled as either of these now... Keep it up, Clay, try some sidechaining and experiment with your dyanmics, stereo field etc, try hacking at your eq's and leaving interesting holes, just keep on keeping on, you've got a definite point of view, make it from your heart not your head and it'll take you along for the ride.
- Yea for real. I'm just now introducing more variety... I just have to get busy with the machines..Claymantis
- Fuck the machines, use a pencil.mikotondria3

Sounds pretty cool...

There are a lot of artists that sound vaguely like Flying Lotus whether directly influenced or not...should they all quit?
I think it just takes a little experimenting before finding your unique sound.
- they shouldn't quit but they should do something more original.sublocked
- and it's not just "glitchy hip hop" it's that unquantized slop drum sound etc etcsublocked
- Flying Lotus is really just instrumental hip hop with glitchy elements...been around for a long timeabettertomorrow
- If he was making minimal techno, would you attack him for lack of originality?:)abettertomorrow
- no, i wouldnt listen. minimal techno sucks. hard.sublocked
- So its a matter of taste? There's plenty that can be done while still having some ties to a certain genre.abettertomorrow
