maybe it's because i'm from Ivory Coast but anyone here commenting knows anything about elephants in the wild and the havoc they can cause to crops or the number of people they kill every year??

It seem most of you are commenting on the fact that he killed the poor dumbo but no one is actually pointing to the fact that this elephant was ruining the slim crops these villagers had and that they ate it after it was killed because they were starving,
I too suffer from the first world dilemma when I see such a magnificent animal die, but I always take a step back and think about the damage such a beast can cause on a already slim crop and that some people don't have access to food flown from all over the world.
you should stop being judgmental and start thinking not everyone has access to the luxury called supermarket, I would love to see how most of you will fare in this kind of environment,

I don't think anyone here is saying that elephants are tiny insects that can barely do any damage. We are all (well I think maybe just speaking for myself) disgusted by this guy behavior who obviously doesn't give a shit about villagers, but is just over exploiting the story to get away with shooting animals and bragging about it on his site.

Real animal control people - being largely normal people do not celebrate in the killing of anything. I believe you can still be compassionate and kill animals for whatever reasons are justified - food, crop protection, personal protection etc, but once you start showboating it and not demonstrating any humanity or necessary remorse, then most enlightened people think you look a total fucking twat with psychological issues.
