Looking for information about this, particularly how to get it done as cheap as possible. Anyone has any experience with this type of printing format?

You can probably find a small local printer who can do this for you affordably. What's your format? Are you thinking of flat colors or four-color process?

My format will depend largely on what I'm able to afford. For instance this website
http://www.parkpress.com/
provides a quote on the fly for certain formats, for instance:1000 units, size 11.38" x 12.00", newsprint, full color 1st and last page, 24 pages runs for about $1,252.00
Do you consider this to be industry standard pricing for this order?
I like your idea of inquiring locally. Thanks for the advice.

we bought several thousand sheets SRA3 (can't remember how much exactly, but incredibly cheap) and did some print runs for a club on our own laser printer last year...
the printer had a hard time feeding the sheets, and occasionally jam or the rollers would create a small fold in the paper, then print over the fold - so we had to keep a close eye on it... a bit messy but it was a DIY thing so it worked out.

Have you tried the Newspaper club? I heard they were thinking about looking to try the states as well.

$1200 sounds a little high. I used to do 30,000 16 page, 2 color tabloid for $1600-$1700.
Also if your mailing it consider your mail costs. 24 pages of newsprint can get heavy. (relatively)
I quoted here once or twice: http://freeportpress.com/
but usually had it done here: http://integrasynergy.com/index.… because they were local and could deliver free.Call around, find out who the local paper uses.
- that was a bit over a year ago to, i suspect prices are up.jtb26
