Can I get some suggestions on a compact 35mm camera or a small, under $400 rangefinder that actually has some aperture/shutter options, but small enough to carry around everyday on the streets?
I use an olympus trip sometimes, but I have a hard time taking pictures that are not a bit shaky while using it.
I also love the Hexar but its a bit big.

olympus xa.
http://www.kenrockwell.com/olymp…i would have bought one myself, but i decided on the stylus epic because i valued autofocus over manual control.

The Olympus XA is an AWESOME camera!
I got one for xmas in the early 80s. My first camera!
It's still going strong. The flash unit comes off and it becomes a super small compact 35mm.

XA is nice, fidgety, I had an XA and an XA-2, XA2 has zone focussing and no aperture priority, XA has rangefinder, aperture priority and ASA settings. With either, the shutter solenoid can go bad, so test before you buy!
Minox 35ML is nice too, but hard to find, manual-guess focus folding camera....
http://www.theothermartintaylor.…Olympus RC is lovely, rangefinder...much smaller than Konica Hexar
- who can disagree with a Minotaur lens.. the horned beast itself!vaxorcist
