Here's another brain teaser for you..
Why is it that Flash crashes so bad in Safari in OSX but doesn't in Chrome and Firefox on OSX as well?
I just went to gametrailers.com and played a video in Safari.. the thing was stalling, stuttering and finally completely stopped playing the video.. I go open Chrome and Firefox and the thing runs super smooth and no issues at all..
I wouldn't be surprised at all if they really do screw up flash in Safari to try to push their agenda and make Mac users hate Flash with passion.

Apple is a clothing brand.

how often do you drag a weblink to your desktop and open up a friggen flash app or flash game?
- let alone do this on a phone...inteliboy
- I agree, flash is a bit wank really... such a smooth experience without it these daysejectstudio

Mozilla open source evangelist Chris Blizzard has unloaded on both Apple and Google for abusing the HTML5 moniker, confusing netizens everywhere, and undermining the slow march towards truly open web standards.
Blizzard is so peeved at Apple and Google that he even goes so far as to lavish praise on Microsoft for its belated embrace of open standards.
....
Did they say GOOGLE?! lol.

You accuse others of being wankers blinded by the hype and churn out this nonsense hotroddy?
All these companies are motivated by the same thing...desire for profit and to destroy their competitors. And of course there are also many brilliant people who care about creating great technology and design at each of them too:)
Anyway, let me know when Google "open sources" their search engine.
- I'mn saying it's their business model. When they change their business model I'll change my mind.hotroddy
- hotroddy0
It's the essence to their business model. Everyone else is trying to close google out. Why is big media suing them? because they pretty much give away content for free for both video (youtube) or editorial (search engine). Google pretty much is the internet as we know it. Apple and Rupert Murdoch are trying to change it.

"wankers/posers blinded by the hype"
That's a wonderful way to start a thread.
- It's how I vent. Nothing personal.hotroddy

Google represents the open web.
- So open they removed a feature their browser had (h264) to push their own codecernexbcn
- hehe, wrong 'open'kingsteven
- ie. h.264 isn't open source, Google/ On VP8 is.kingsteven
- http://www.isolani.c…kingsteven
- That's not the point, h264 is ubiquitous and they had it, removing it = dick moveernexbcn
- so h.264, a proprietary technology is fine because it's ubiquitous but Flash isn't?Boz

^
Exactly. There is such a long list of anticompetitive behavior by all these companies.
- VikingKingEleven0
Its funny you get mad at apple for doing this but not at google...

yep, i never get past the point of... if all these problems are deliberate i'd like jobs more, not less.

"accused of slowing web apps to benefit app store"
VS
"accused of neglecting the JavaScript engine"same article.

I wouldn't put it above Apple, but I wouldn't put them above any major tech company either. All this talk of Apple being evil is a little silly.
- Boz0
And you know what.. if you look at this and say.. what else have they done on purpose? Maybe bootcamp drivers, so your Windows runs like crap on your Mac becasue it crashes?
I know I personally had Windows 7 crash and act weird when I installed it on a Mac Pro.. runnning butter smooth on my i7 machine. The culprit, Bootcamp drivers.
This stuff is not new for Apple..and when questioned they use half truths and convenient excuses..
I'm glad they are getting caught in shit like this.. It will only hurt them in the long run and show to a lot of people why some of us can't stand them.. they are such an evil and disgusting company...I mean, talented and fantastic in products and design but the business policies and models... Yowza.. probably the worst company in the world.

What about the possibility of this being a bug and thanks to this being fixed? no, it has to be an evil conspiracy!
In the meantime, you can bookmark your favorite web app inside Safari instead of creating an icon for it if you need the extra speed, and this will be fixed in a future update more than likely.
- that's like giving Hugo Chavez the benefit of the doubt!hotroddy

Ironically, some of Apple's practices could drive companies away from the App Store...
http://techcrunch.com/2011/03/09…
But there's kind of a conundrum here. Companies don't like Apple taking a cut and imposing restrictions, at the same time I wonder if they would sell nearly as many apps if not for the app store.
- I'm betting that most apps wouldn't sell 10% of what they do through the app store... ala Angry BirdsAmicus

Apple is rotten.
