how would i hire a freelancer to debug file in my php code without revealing all the files on my site?
i just want him to have access to the file that needs fixing, not the whole website.. is there a way to this through ftp or on server?

transparency, deal with it.

"without revealing all the files on my site"
you just blow your own cover. lol.

Copy the code out of the PHP file and pastebin it to him. If you need him to debug the file, then you will have problems.
You can setup a dev/subversion environment as another option and lock out his access to other areas pretty easily.

how about, you copy everything. so you have a backup.
then you gain him/her access to it.
if he/she mess up, you got it covered with your backup.how's that sound?

i don't want them to have access to the whole application.. just the files that need debug/

hmm... lots of times the bugs are due to dependencies being mismatched... so he may need to get some of the other files to see what they're expecting....

Most programmers are used to signing an NDA

ask your freelancer, he should know.
