no
- If you're not a student you don't deserve the discount. Simple as that.monospaced

If you have them buy everything for you, and you pay them back? Or just buy a refurb, the price difference is about the same.

@ Gboutique–the last time I used my student discount in a store, they looked at my student ID card and compared it to the credit card I was putting it on and driver's license to make sure I was me. They don't give up $200 lightly...

log in to the student network with your friend's student #. once you're in, place your order and fill in your billing info. Doesn't have to match their info. The shipping does though.
- thanks. soit does not matter is it's a different surname either and studying a non design related course?GBOUTIQUE

If you buy from apple.com or phone your order in, you can make up whatever student ID you want. Just pick any school in your neighbourhood (or anywhere in your country) and tell them you're a teacher there and give them a nice fake staff ID number.
It works. They can't possibly keep all those ID numbers on file.

you can do it...but you only get one discount a year so as long as they aren't looking to get a computer this year...you're good

I put and advert on the gumtree and paid a student £20 to get a scan of their ID to use. Got a free ipod touch + 20% discount on macbook pro.
- the student used PC and was glad to get £20 for nothing.orpkoobcam2
