You're always going to find something similar. But a personal brand for yourself or your own studio has a slower bar than that for a big corporation.

my last name is Kingsbury, and I remember in college we had an assignment to create a logo based on the first initial of our last name...and we had to triple it....

well, of course it’s nice, but... I have the feeling I have seen this or a slight variation oftentimes before, especially in a "design for designers" context... I miss a special twist or refinement in it that would make it somewhat outstanding (could be even a minor change like the rounded top corners in i_monks logo)...

Thanks! It's is a fairly basic shape, so I'm not surprised that there are so many similar logos. I'm still coming up with other variations/options.
