Just doing a bit of casual browsing in css galleries and came across http://www.ambermiro.com
It may of been inspired by http://jpedrazzini.com/ but I'm not quite sure? :D
Great quotes -

— it's cultivated.""Not only do I provide you with a unique design, I research your main competitors to guarantee a site will look and function at the top of your class."

by the look of it "talk about the creative industry" went pretty well

I don't get it — are you calling her out for ripping, or having a go at her use of language — perhaps you just don't think she's all that?
I don't really see that she's done anything to deserve being called out, publically like this. So her intro layout is similar to something out there already? So what? it's only a singular component, and .. let's be honest.. there's very little new under the sun. One look at your own work is proof that you've been part of the designer ecosystem for a while — unless you independently came out with the use of horizontal-split Helvetica and 45° diagonal pixel lines?
What's the deal?
.
Incidentally, I like your Sean Gobey ident.
I know someone who does expensive wooden flooring for a living.. I might have to borrow your idea..- <monospaced
- Wow very surprised at this post. It's clearly ripped off. It's not like they are both similar styles. They are the same style, layout et' all.Hombre_Lobo
- I mean it's not like the only think similar is the style. Everything is the same aside from the header.Hombre_Lobo
- Everything is NOT the same.
Anyway — so what?detritus

The splash page, though, is blatant.
- I honestly don't care if either of them did it first, or if it's a purchasable templatemonospaced

So funny. The second site seems to have been inspired by the first since it has lifted the whole look of the buttons, but nothing more. Amber's site treats them as navigation, each large section jumping to a place in her portfolio. On James' site the whole image links to his "actual" website. It serves no purpose whatsoever, unlike the first.
- I stand corrected. Hers serves little function either. I'm actually a little disappointed.monospaced

Blatant rip. Same style, same layout. Only thing different is the header.
How we can work out which came first though?

Click About, then click home again; for a split second the splash page appears (in Safari) - looks like shit.
