does anyone know how to export an illustrator file so that the layers cannot be edited?
i have a logo i designed for a client and i want to provide them with a scaleable vector version but there's a lot of fine detail in the icon and i'd rather not let them have access to the layers so they can't fiddle with the vectors. by accident or otherwise.
thanks in advance.

Has it got transparency and gradient stuff?
If not, save as SVG?

I would export a non editable / non importable PDF, locked by password.

no gradients, but yes transparencies. i'll give the pdf a shot.
thanks!

Transparencies should work fine actually, but yes a locked PDF will do the trick as well.

Sorry to thread hijack.... but rather than starting another Illy thread I thought I'd post here.
Shift + Command + . (period) has stopped working for me. the shortcut to make fonts smaller still works though. Dumped the prefs... anyone know of any easy solution. Still working in other CS packages. Really annoying!

did you check your keyboard commands in the Edit menu?

Yeah just did. Really weird actually. I can change the command if i want to. But if I try re-entering the standard one the menu closes on me.
