Hey QBNers,
I am new to Wordpress development and wanted to start using a framework to speed development. I think Studiopress' Genesis framework looks good so I was going to buy this with a child theme that fits the basic layout / content requirements for my project.
Anyone here have any experience with Genesis and it's child themes? Is it best to pick one of their themes that most closely fits your project and then customize? Or is it best to just create a child theme from scratch for Genesis?
As I said, I'm brand new to this so any and all advice would be appreciated.
PS - was gonna ask this on their forums, but oddly enough, you must purchase their product before you can post over there!

Get your hands dirty, may not be as speedy as using a framework (at first), but you'll have much more flexibility later on.

Use ExpressionEngine!

My deadline is just 5 weeks away, so time ain't on my side. I need to stay away from PHP for this project at least due to zero knowledge and that deadline. That's why I figured picking a Genesis child theme and modifying the graphics, CSS etc to make it work.

It will take you a day to learn ExpressionEngine. They have their own tags to use in templates. It's the easiest CMS to work with for any design you have. If you want I can work with you to build it.
