I'm freelancing in Miami right now trying to find work . So far I've found some work here and there I just wish there was an app that pointed out all the well paying honest freelancing gigs out there. How's it on your end?

That's exactly what the world needs: yet another app that makes the hard work of life codified and downloadable to a mobile handset, and thereafter fully automated.
A measure of your character to would be to get out there and be resourceful in your work search, rather than wishing for an app to do it for you.

Flat out just now, and currently recruiting at my place. Edinburgh is a bit far to travel on a daily basis though, could be tiring...
- i've traveled there on 3 daily basis's - you've got a beautiful city mate.bjladams
- i hear good things about Edinburgh too, and even better things about sessessesHombre_Lobo

small jobs are smaller, low price 'package' print firms are booming. more established studios have long since switched to digital / television... they want their geeks in house and their designers freelance.
If you stop looking for design work, and theme your output (ie. music/ sport/ fashion/ art/ languages) it's easier to promote yourself and land bigger jobs. Teaming up with someone who understands what you do, is recently laid off in wtf-industry, has contacts, can get the work in AND deal with the clients is the ticket... getting paid is a job in itself these days.

If you are good you will always be busy, its as simple as that
- i dont know about that - i've known some great designers that have drawn the short straw at times...bjladams
- that's a naive statement, arobqrandommail
- id disagree.
the better you are the safer you are, but pros have lulls in works.
Hombre_Lobo - hah, one of my clients went under last year, contracted until april no warning...kingsteven
- took 3 months to get another cheque in... bad ol' timeskingsteven
- I've known some great designers who are not great at business deals....vaxorcist

I've been swamped since the beginning of the year. A lot of my amigos are super-busy too. It's like a flood of work came in for people at the beginning of the year.

Work is fine. Although I have a full-time job, freelance work is just piling up. And, it has nothing to do with my "neck of the woods," since my clients are in different cities, thousands of miles away.

I posted the same topic just now I didn't know it came through Qbn was giving me an error when I did it. So sory about the repeated post. I've been doing freelance and so far there is a lot of people trying to scam designers out here smh..
