I use a Mac and I'm looking to get a wireless internet adapter for my XBox but I see mostly horror stories online. Anyone have any recommendations / advice? Do I even need to use my computer to configure the damn thing?

buy a wireless router, use it for xbox and your mac. download connect 360 on mac to sling content (music, movies, pics) to your xbox
- Do you use the Microsoft wireless adapter or the generic brand?Glitterati_Duane
- my xbox already has the built in wireless, but I'm sure the adaptor would do the samecashface

I use xb360 wireless adapater to connect to a wireless router in the same room. I've never experienced any issues with it whatsoever. Never dropped out, stuttered or anything of the like. As a matter of fact, i found it faster and more reliable than the janky lan cable i used to run to the router.
I've heard of people using mac's as their wireless adapter for an xb360 - which a friend of mine used quite successfully. You shouldn't need to use your mac to configure anything xb360 related...
Outside of that I have no complaints. Super easy to use and install, less cords dangling around. I would recommend it.

Vuse can stream stuff for free but it's not as elegant as connect 360.
- vuze can only stream video content IIRCd_rek

I just want to get online with it at this point. I moved my Xbox to a room with no networking cables and want to know whether it's best to use the microsoft wireless adapter, the madcatz one or use my macbook pro.

i'd say just use the microsoft wireless. it's made specifically for wireless gaming and the xbox.
i've heard madcatz has gotten better at making stuff, but, i've never seen a quality...well anything from them
i've never heard good things about using a macbook for such things.
