Going to Vietnam and thinking about buying a small & sturdy camera that shoots good video.
Open to all suggestions. Options so far include:
Sony DSC TX-7
Flip HD (video only)Any recommendations?

- Wish it had a viewfinder. Could be an interesting option though, but lacks alot of usability features.non

best s95 video sample ever!! -
Does the s95 have manual control in video? you could remove that choppiness with a proper shutter speed if so.

The more I read about the GoPro, the more I'm inclined to buy it.

I actually have the Sony TX-5 and its awesome. Slim and perfect.

go pro's great... but only for p.o.v stuff and crazy sportsy stuff. you can't zoom and it'sa very wide lens, so everything seems very far away and impersonal.
that being said, it's unique... you'll get footage you never could otherwise
- ...if you're after something for filming, get a video cam that can actually zoom in/out as you filmProjectile

I really hate zoom on digicams and will not bring a tripod, so for anything that has lots of movement, I think the GoPro might be a better choice. The fact that its pretty sturdy makes it a logical choice for traveling back-pack style in Vietnam. The other thing is that, I plan on making small clips as "souvenirs" and not an amateur movie.

Well, still searching. Am considering more and more the digi camera option.

I have this. It is a really good camera. shoots video but they take a lot of space, so you need extra cards.

Oh, missed the part where you settled on the P300. No offence but I wouldn't set my mind on a camera that doesn't shoot RAW.

- i think in terms of ergonomics and size, this is my favorite cam. not found one that feels better in the hand.Hombre_Lobo
- if they got a micro four third sensor in there, id be in heaven.Hombre_Lobo
