Robert Rauschenberg did it better.
I'd have more respect for him, if he wasn't so glib about being ignorant about type and history, especially so many years after the peak of Raygun. He's a great marketer / ok artist / and incompetent designer. And.. I really was a fan at one point.

So he was non conformist in the earlier parts of his career from lack of training and exposure to the "rules" of design. Now, after 20+ years, he can no longer claim naivety so he is just messing around and ignoring the rules intentionally. Somehow that changes things a bit. His style has been so aped and commercialized that really it is no long even "his" style anymore.
That said, I like the idea of a responsive approach to design and I was once a huge fan.

Carson could just oursource everything to a bunch of first year art school students, or even a few 5 year old kids with a few pairs of scissors and some scotch tape and a pile of old magazines and a some lettraset.... then he could go write a best-selling business book like the 4 Hour Wank Week
