Hey all,
I was hoping to convert this image to a vector to muck around with it, but there are 2 problems. First, I'm travelling with a netbook with no Photoshop or Illustrator, and secondly this is the largest version of the image I can find.Do you guys reckon it's even possible to convert something of this quality to a vector drawing?
All relevant advice appreciated!

yeah, if you are willing to do it in 3d or by hand.... live trace will work like a welfare cheat on this one.

Sorry bro. I don't reckon I might can.

You could use processing.. or try http://www.onull.net/
- that onull looks sweet, maybe not for this purpose though? I wrote something similar for audio once.kingsteven

Looks good again, thanks jimbo!!

To get it perfect you would need to redraw it from scratch... an image that size would make a shite trace if it was blown up any bigger than it already is.

ReDraw!

I've contacted the original creators to see if I can get a bigger version (I'm not getting my hopes up), and if not I will then go the long route by either re-drawing, or getting someone else to re-draw for me....
- so, you're going to straight up, shamelessly rip this illustration?monospaced
- good point, mono... but he has been in contact with them so dependsProjectile

pay me cash money and i'll convert it into a vector for you

Just and update for everyone, I have contacted the original creator, explained my idea, and he said he was more than happy with it, and is sending through a higher quality version to me.
To quell your moral outrage monospaced, the use of the logo is intended entirely as an homage to the original creators, and is certainly not intended for any material or financial gain.

upload the hi res so we can use it for our financial gain
