I admit this was one of things I found so appealing, I loved how tacky some of the sites were sometimes institutionally, tonnes of gifs and videos and wdigets etc. It has limited appeal though and you can always do that anyway.

2 things are impossible: someone designed the new myspace and thought it was great idea and after that someone supposedly agreed and approved this piece of junk . On top of that they made the logo the most ridiculous concoction of a travesty of somthing not even turds with antbrains would want to associate themselves with.. the backward uncompatibility with the users custom styling feels intentional to piss off users. the user interface now is simply terrible, you have to scroll down to the bottom of your admin to find links to change your settings ! the default CSS settings mess up everything. if a friends name is longer than 10 characters you cant even read it . cross-browser compatibility is a joke, the whole thing loads like shit. I say Myspace was intentionally murdered. I don't know why. they're herding us into facebook or something.

Yahoo seems to exist mainly to facilitate the closing down of old websites.

haha, i'm no conspiracy theorist, but the thought did cross my mind as well.
read this:
"Van Natta became the Chief Operating Officer at Facebook, where he focused on revenue operations, business development, and strategic partnerships from September 2005 to February 2008.
In April 2009, Van Natta became Chief Executive Officer of MySpace, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s strategic vision and the execution of its global business initiatives."

Naw people bounce between those companies all the time. There were similar (unsubstantiated) claims made about Apple sending their employees to competitors to destroy their smartphone efforts. But I tend to believe the stupidity/ rank incompetence explanation first.

I don't really see Facebook going anywhere for a long, long time. That's just like, my opinion though, man.
