I like perch for sites that dont need much more functionality than to be able to edit the copy and images.
You just build your site in HTML/CSS and then bolt in the text and images from the CMS. So easy.

I hate joomla!

I mean, even a tree view of the structure would be progress compared to the mish mashy-ness of just having a list of modules.

If you're just starting out - I'd recommend Wordpress over Drupal and Joomla.

If you're just starting out, and its not a huge site I recommend a couple of things over Drupal and Joomla, including:
CMS Made Simple - http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/
Pretty intuitive templatingConcrete 5 - http://www.concrete5.org/
Great user editing experience, fairly easy templating.

chilamont,
You should start a site like http://www.wpquestions.com, but for Joomla. Sign up here:

Drupal and Joomla are both a bit of a learning curve more than you may want.... like taking a 747 airplane to go to the corner store....
concrete5 and wordpress look far simpler to me, or at least less filling your mind with randomness...

And the support factor? Are you kidding Wordpress, there is no comparison.

By the way...
Post and if you cannot figure it out pay a small fee. Great idea!

don't really like that questions site - and kind of defeats the object of open source community - just my opinion
